GLOBALSPIN TRADE CONCLAVE 21st – 22nd March, WTC BENGALURU

DAY 2

The Day 2 of GlobalSpin Trade Conclave was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Guest Dr. Murugesh Rudrappa Nirani, Hon’ble Minister of Ministry of Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka where he promised that he would support Fashion and Textiles sector in Karnataka after lighting the lamp.

Ms. Susan Thomas (IRS), Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Government of India in her keynote approach in the industry where academic industry Startup and NGO’s came together to build a stronger ecosystem. Her ideas were versatile and welcomed by the audience composed of industry and Government. 

Mr. Yash Arya, CEO and Founder, IAMKHADI talked about a project UDDAN which is towards creating millions of entrepreneurs’ in the State of Karnataka i.e., it will create jobs and generate more revenue for the State of Karnataka.  

The project UDAAN import project stakeholders includes NI-MSME, NIFT Foundation for Design and Innovation (NFDI), NSDC and DGFT that aims to create an enabling environment for enhancing skill development for the flow of trade, commerce, and technology and to engage, enable and empower micro-entrepreneurs and start-ups to gain a better understanding of the challenges to global trade and export competitiveness by doing e-Learning, e-Lending and e-Tailing towards linking ODOP and Aspirational Districts with global market.

Mr. Regan, Senior Manager, 3D Application, Monotech Systems Ltd talked about Digitization In Textiles and Dr. Gopal, CEO, Silk Mark Organization of India (SMOI), Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India gave presentation on use of Silk Mark and its importance for consumer consumption and exports.

Deputy Director, MSME-DI, Govt. of India; Assistant Director, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC); Regional Officer, Export Promotion Council For Handicrafts (EPCH) in a panel discussion shared their views about role of funding agencies towards export marketing.

The vote of thanks proposed by CEO, NFDI, Ministry of Textiles, Gov.t of India and Mr. Yash Arya, CEO IAMKHADI and thanked Foreign Delegation from University of Zimbabwe and Mauritius. 

Through this GlobalSpin Trade Conclave, the Organizers and Co-Organizers wanted to start an engagement with all the stakeholders of Textile Value Chain to initiate a unique project UDAAN, which is towards creating millions of micro entrepreneur in the India i.e., it will create jobs and generate more foreign exchange for India thus enhancing exports.  It aims to create an enabling environment for enhancing skill development and entrepreneurship for the flow of trade, commerce, and technology and engage, enable and empower micro-entrepreneurs and start-ups to gain a better understanding of the challenges to global trade and export competitiveness.
