A majestic heritage evening awaits at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2022!

Scheduled to take place from 5th-14th March, 2022, the Jaipur Literature Festival is all set to bring a spectacular Heritage Evening back on-ground on 13th March at Ganesh Pol, Amer Fort. Famously known as the ‘Kumbh of Literature’, the iconic literary Festival is taking place in a hybrid avatar featuring stellar artists from India and across the world in the Heritage Evening programme. 

In partnership with Rajasthan Tourism, the Jaipur Literature Festival brings together arts and culture at the magnificent Amer Fort, celebrating Jaipur’s rich, historical and architectural legacy through a culturally diverse showcase of poetry, dance and music at the renowned monument.

In its previous editions, the Festival has hosted various acclaimed artists who have graced the stage with their euphonious energy. The programme will feature a soul-stirring performance by Kalapini Komkali namely BASANT SANGEET displaying Songs of Hori, Rasiya and a Special Tribute to Pt. Kumar Gandharva. Leading dancer and choreographer Aditi Mangaldas will be presenting A tribute to the late Pandit Birju Maharaj -UNCHARTED SEAS. Ending the evening on a spectacular note, students of ARCH COLLEGE OF DESIGN & BUSINESS, Jaipur will be showcasing A FASHION SHOW: GABA,  which will be a celebration of conscious and sustainable living.

Celebrating the 15th edition, classical vocalist and daughter of the legendary Pandit Kumar Gandharva, Kalapini Komkali said, “Being a part of such an honourable gathering gives me immense pleasure and joy, allowing me to unleash the power of music. This festival, in my opinion, brings together major academics, performers, and young artists, making it a globally recognised extravaganza. This year, I will be embracing the beauty of spring through my melodies, making it a memorable evening for all its attendees.”

Also part of the programme, leading Kathak dancer and choreographer Aditi Mangaldas said, “Let our dance be the rainbow that transcends the clouds that have descended upon the art world, and let our art form be the colour that fills our lives with hope. This season our source of warmth and energy is the opportunity to perform at the Heritage Evening of the Jaipur Literature Festival 2022. Concluding the Heritage Evening with what promises to be a breathtaking show, Archana Sorana, Founder and Director of the ARCH School of Design, Jaipur, said, “We are thrilled that the Jaipur Literature Festival is back [on-ground] this year, as we had an incredible heritage fashion show at the magnificent Amer Fort two years ago! Abdul Kalam, Bill Gates, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stephen Fry, Thomas Piketty and former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai.
