Global Leadership Enterprise Ambassador 2022.

As you walk into the office of Dr. Minnie Bodhanwala, a genuinely warm smile provides a welcome relief from the essentially ruthless and highly competitive corporate world. When you delve deeper into the psyche and persona of the lady, you realise that her body of work is an inspiration, and she continues to lead from the front with grace and compassion.

Winner of multiple National and International Awards, Dr Minnie Bodhanwala- CEO, Wadia Hospitals, has ensured that corporate social responsibility is no longer a peripheral activity. Instead, it is at the very core of every thought and action. With decades of experience spread over multiple sectors, she is indeed a master class in leadership. Her presence as a board member in large business conglomerates speaks volumes of her sheer dynamism.

Be it helping children from the deprived sections of society or lending exemplary support to Covid patients during the peak of the pandemic, Minnie Bodhanwala has worked relentlessly with a single-minded focus. Affordable treatment for one and all has been her mission statement.

At par with any world-class super speciality facility, Wadia hospitals have been at the forefront to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. They have worked dedicatedly to manage COVID-19 patients, ensuring zero COVID – 19 deaths at the hospital.

Turning them into centers of excellence, the Hospitals have multiple claims to fame.

The Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children (BJWHC) now has 525 beds offering 34 Pediatric services. It is a recognized center of excellence for Paediatric Cardiology, Paediatric Neurology, Paediatric Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery, Nephrology, Hemat-Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, and many more.

With 155 beds, Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital is one of the largest Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) in the world. It is also the nodal centre for Club Foot in Maharashtra and the only centre in Western India that provides zero-day dialysis for new-borns.

As a UNICEF partner, BJWHC addresses child survival and development with equity among the most deprived urban poor communities of Mumbai by providing a state-of-the-art advanced Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre for children with severe acute malnutrition. In a first-of-its-kind programme, every child who enters BJWHC, even for an OPD consultation, is screened for nutrition status.

With dedicated research centres for Tuberculosis and HIV, MRI Setup, 24/7 Cath lab, and state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities to support the patients, the hospital is the go-to destination for Childcare. With the first Indian State of the Art I.V.F (A.R.T) Center with QAI accreditation and a Human Milk Bank to cater to new-borns and infants, the hospital has emerged as the final word in paediatrics.

Minnie Bodhanwala’s untiring efforts have resulted in affordable, safe, and quality healthcare for the masses. To streamline the operations of a hospital with weakened infrastructure and no financial support takes a leader with a will of steel and a galvanizing spirit to rally the forces, motivate their sagging spirits, and still work wonders.

Dr. Bodhanwala’s humility and team spirit are transparent as she attributes her success to her team and her mentor. She says, “Our Chairman Nusli Wadia and Board member Ness Wadia have been a great source of inspiration and influence in my life. In more ways than one, I am merely taking forward the all-inclusive vision of my Chairman.”

The world definitely needs more leaders like Minnie Bodhanwala, who are empowered with the right vision for the benefit of one and all.
